Efim portrays the body of a young woman, painted with intimate detail and emotional presence. From the chest upward, her form begins to disintegrate: fragmenting into dust, as if her thoughts, identity, or presence were eroding into the void. The lower body remains solid and grounded, while the upper part dissolves into fine particles that blend into an undefined background.
This visual metamorphosis speaks of impermanence, emotional detachment, and the silent violence of forgetting. The title, Efim (a play on “ephemeral”), reinforces the core idea: nothing truly holds. Identity, presence, selfhood, they are as fleeting as dust in light.
